Spread the love

It’s 2024 and the renowned metropolis, Dubai is known for its luxury and opulence. But wait, there’s more. Today, it has also become a hub for sustainable products and initiatives.

This shift in the customer mindset is one of the main reasons for the rise of eco-conscious brands.

Today, almost 30% of consumers say they want to improve the environment.

That’s not all. More than 58% of consumers also say that they are willing to spend more money on products that are sustainable or eco-friendly.

While sustainable clothes are becoming a trend, we have also seen a rise in a variety of sustainable products. Let’s unpack!

Organic Food

One of the first sustainable initiatives to hit the market was that of organic food. We saw this across the globe!

Organic food means agricultural products that are grown and produced without the use of synthetic chemicals, genetically modified organisms, or ionizing radiation. These foods are grown using natural methods that prioritize soil health, biodiversity, and sustainable farming practices. Hence, it can reduce the environmental impact. From organic food cafes to organic food supermarkets, Dubai has you covered.

Sustainable Shoes

Sustainable shoe brands in Dubai today make use of recycled plastics, organic cotton, hemp, bamboo, and natural rubber to create enticing footwear. These materials reduce our reliance on non-renewable resources and curb the environmental footprint of shoe production.

Here, we have also seen a brand called Thaely by Ashay Bhave. By utilizing recycled bags and rubber, he has created recycled shoes that resembled a traditional leather sneaker. This is a great step in the right direction.

Home Goods

When we say home goods, a variety of products fall under this category, especially recycled furniture. Today, we see more and more sellers that revamp old and discarded furniture and turn it into something all the more beautiful.

Infact, furniture made from reclaimed wood, bamboo, or recycled materials can be found in specialty stores or online platforms in Dubai.

Reusable Products

One of the easiest ways to jump on the sustainability bandwagon is to use reusable items.

You can invest in reusable alternatives to single-use items such as water bottles, coffee cups, and even shopping bags. Many eco-conscious stores in Dubai offer a variety of stylish and functional reusable products to help reduce waste. This way, you don’t compromise with your style while taking care of the planet.

Eco-Friendly Beauty

Today, 21% of Gen Z and 33% of Millennials lean towards sustainable beauty· These beauty and personal care products are made from natural and organic ingredients, free from harmful chemicals and synthetic fragrances.

Infact, several of these brands in Dubai also steer clear from animal testing and are cruelty-free.

Power Solutions

From reusable batteries to solar power solutions for your home, there are a variety of options to reduce reliance on non-renewable energy sources.

Solar panels and solar-powered appliances can be installed by various companies in Dubai specializing in sustainable energy solutions.

Green Transportation

One of the best ways to go green is to choose eco-friendly transport. From electric vehicles to bicycles, the options are plenty. Even the public transport is amazing. You have an NOL/Hafilat Card that lets you take public transport in a hassle-free manner.

Dubai is also expanding its infrastructure for EVs with charging stations available in various locations across the city.

Conclusion

Going green and entering a world of sustainability isn’t really hard when you have eco-conscious brands rising to the occasion and supplying you with the right products.

If you are someone who is new to the sustainability segment, the very first step is to educate yourself and be aware. Start small and then take it forward. After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day.
