This sustainable office architecture received a LEED Platinum Rating in 2010. Suzlon One Earth building was created by Christopher Charles. This building in the garden can easily accommodate 2300 people and is known to be one of the largest green buildings in India. This project is acknowledged as India’s first building to be certified as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. 

The campus consists of 18 hybrid wind turbines, fulfilling 7% of energy consumption. The rest of the energy gets supplied from offsite wind turbines. The campus is built in such a way that it ensures maximum daylight exposure, diminishing the use of artificial lights. 

  1. ITC Maurya Hotel, New Delhi
ITC Maurya Hotel, New Delhi

ITC Maurya Hotel in New Delhi is one of the first LEED Platinum-rated hotels in the world. This hotel stands out from the rest as it recycles 90% of its debris. Over 30 % that are locally sourced gets harvested within a radius of 160 km. Additionally, the building uses extremely less volatile organic compound paint which makes it one of the finest green buildings in India. 

  1. Infinity Benchmark, Kolkata
Infinity Benchmark, Kolkata

Kolkata’s greenest building, Infinity Benchmark is located in Salt Lake City. It’s a 20-story building which is Kolkata’s first LEED Platinum-rated structure. The building is built with a floor plan area of 5,60,000 sq.ft. Infinity Benchmark has the following green features:

  • Low carbon footprint
  • Zero-discharge rainwater harvesting
  • Rooftop terrace garden
  • Smart indoor air quality monitoring system
  • Insulation layers in ceilings and walls
  1. Cisco Building, Bangalore
Cisco Building, Bangalore

Cisco building is spread across 2.18 million sqft. This building has received five LEED Platinum certification. Cisco building’s energy consumption is offset by green power sources above 70,00,000 kWh every year. It uses renewable and recyclable construction materials and has an energy-efficient HVAC design. 

  1. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad

Despite being the busiest, this airport still managed to set a benchmark and is one of the best green buildings in India. The airport was designed keeping in mind the motive to consume less electricity, less water and conserve natural resources. The following environmental components have been taken into consideration:

  • Usage of clean energy
